Exploring virtue, faith, and the human form through symbolic self-portraiture.
The Seven Heavenly Virtues offer a way of thinking about character, discipline, love, and the choices that shape a life. In this series, I use male nude self-portrait photography to explore those ideas visually, allowing gesture, light, setting, and the human form to give each virtue its own character.
These photographs are not meant to illustrate the virtues literally. They are personal interpretations of qualities such as chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness, and humility, viewed through faith and the belief that our physical and spiritual lives are not separate. Each image becomes a reflection on what it means to grow toward a life shaped by grace, restraint, generosity, and love.
