This was my first time visiting a nude beach. I stopped at Rooster Rock after a photoshoot in the Portland area. I felt both curious and nervous about actually visiting a nude beach and maybe even getting naked.
I found a quiet spot near the water, stripped down not even wanting to look around. I was pretty nervous at first and body had its own response, which only made me more self-conscious. I quickly got into the water and once I felt more settled, I started to realize how normal everything felt. People were simply enjoying the outdoors without making a big deal about being naked, and that was surprisingly freeing. Before long, I could relax, swim, and just enjoy being outside without feeling like I needed to hide.
Near sunset, I pulled out my camera. The low golden light against the dark water was incredible, and every movement created these circles and geometric patterns across the surface. I started playing with the reflections, ripples, and the way my body interrupted the stillness of the water.
