Desolation The Human Form in Darkness and Grace

Exploring darkness, brokenness, and healing within the human soul.

With the desolation photos I shoot, there is juxtaposition between the glory of creation and the fallen nature of humanity. These black and white images explore the desolation and darkness hidden in the human soul, and the brokenness of the human spirit found at its most vulnerable: naked and alone. I believe this is where we need God the most, in the most broken and hurting places, through surrender, we can be made whole and healed again.

Juxtaposition of Creation and Brokenness in Nude Art

The interplay between desolation and the human form offers a powerful lens into the depths of the human soul. As Rumi profoundly said, “The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” These works remind us that even in moments of deepest despair, there is light and the promise of renewal.
