Forest Spirit

I kept returning to the woods because in nature is where I feel closest to God. There is something about being naked in nature that makes that easier for me. I find that be unclothed in body, helps me remove my mental constraints as well. Not trying to present myself a certain way, just being. In the middle of creation. Ferns, moss, trees, water, skin. Everything simply existing as God made it.

That is what this photo feels like to me. Not really a pose as much as a pause. Lying beside the stream, listening to the water, feeling the cool air, and letting the forest quiet everything down inside me.

I believe forests are natural cathedrals. And for me, one of the best ways to enter that space is simply to be there fully man, naked in nature, reflecting on God’s creation and His love for me.

Contact sheet from Forest Meditation, showing male nude self-portrait photography in a Pacific Northwest forest beside a stream, exploring stillness, reflection, nature, and spirituality.
A look through the Forest Meditation contact sheet as I moved through the woods, slowed down beside the stream, and explored the quiet connection I feel between nudity, nature, and God.
